Drinking water supply

Laying, renewing and connecting the mains that carry drinking water — with one simple goal: uninterrupted service and water quality preserved.

Our approach

The water has to arrive. Every day, at every tap.

A drinking water network is judged on its reliability. Renewing an old main, creating a service connection or connecting a new neighbourhood must be done without degrading water quality or interrupting service for long.

SA LA GARONNE lays and renews supply and distribution mains, individual service connections and the associated hydraulic structures. Our crews work on networks in operation, in close coordination with the operators, to limit shutdowns and secure every return to service.

Disinfection, pressure testing, quality checks: commissioning is a stage in its own right, which we treat with the same rigour as the laying itself.

Services

What we deliver.

From trunk mains to individual service connections, we work across the whole drinking water network.

01
Laying and renewal of mains

Supply and distribution mains, in all common materials (ductile iron, HDPE and others), by open trench or suitable techniques.

02
Individual service connections

Creation, renewal and repair of drinking water service connections, in the city centre and in outlying areas.

03
Hydraulic structures

Valve chambers, metering manholes, district metering equipment, air valves and washouts.

04
Connections on networks in operation

Operations planned with the network operator to keep the duration and scope of shutdowns to a strict minimum.

05
Testing and disinfection

Pressure testing, flushing, disinfection and analysis before returning to service.

06
Reinstatement

Controlled backfilling, like-for-like reinstatement of roads and pavements, as-built documentation.

Method

A return to service prepared from day one.

Water quality and continuity of service guide every phase of the worksite.

Stage 01Preparation and coordination

Utility locating, statutory notifications, shutdown phasing agreed with the operator, resident information.

Stage 02Safety measures

Signage, shoring, access and flow management, protection of neighbouring mains and crews.

Stage 03Laying and connection

Earthworks, pipe bedding, pipe assembly, connection of service laterals and structures.

Stage 04Testing and commissioning

Pressure testing, disinfection, analysis, gradual return to service and road reinstatement.

Constraints under control

A pressurised network, a city going about its business.

We reconcile drinking water health requirements with the demands of an urban worksite.
